Surprising Cuisine

Went out with Jessica yesterday to catch a movie, but the tickets to the movie were already sold out - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so we decided to settle for a nice dinner somewhere around Parklane.

When we arrived there, there was this "live band" singing at Paradiz Centre (something like MusicDreamer in Marina Square, but outdoors). She missed the times when our #MusicDreamer group really met up to go MusicDreamer so she decided to eat at either Tao's or the Japanese Hotpot there. However after looking at the pricing on the menu, we both decided that it was weird paying for so much yet not getting enough to eat.

We almost decided to go down to Mr. Bean's down at Selegie Arts Centre when I remebered that there's a Cafe Cartel somewhere behind the arts centre (from where I was standing at Parklane). Looking around, we were a little disappointed because the restaurant wasn't there anymore.

Then suddenly there's this restaurant that caught our eyes, it is called - RISTORANTE PIZZERIA GIUSEPPE. Sound kinda italian? Yup, it sure was.

As we entered the restaurant, the atmosphere really changed (from the noisy streets outside to a very relaxing and calm interior). They were playing italian opera (not really my cup of tea though..) and had slightly dim lighting (it sure sets the mood for a relaxing dinner). The interior decor of the place was mainly orange walls and laquered wood and a "fengshui" design right at the center.

There weren't many people eating at the restaurant, but that didn't stop us from staying there to eat (though I must admit, the place was really giving off a feel of "high-class"). After ordering our food, the waitress set the table for us (really formal, the starters on the outside, the main on the inside, as in the forks and knives).

The surprising thing isn't about the place, nor the decor. It was the food.

I can't really describe how good the food tasted but it is really different from any italian restaurants outside. The food was so delicious until we both pictured ourselves as anime characters (of the culinary genre, where the characters always have dramatic reactions after eating a mouthful of the food prepared by the main character), having so many good comments and really savouring the food.

The service of the restaurant isn't very up to standard as it is still quite a new but in terms of quality of food, they really did a great job. If any of you reading this want to give a try, the address to the place is - 68 Prinsep Street, Telephone - 63334823.

I'll continue to drool about the food I ate.... XD
